Stay Connected by Broadcasting Color The LightSync is a device designed to reinforce connections between remote team members working on the same project. Instead of bombarding each other with emails and phone calls, simply roll the LightSync to broadcast a color – symbiotic of how you feel. The ambiguous nature of LightSync creates a general connection to the team rather than the individual. (via LightSync by Philip Gordon » Yanko Design)

I love this observation about taste and creative work from Ira Glass:

Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit.

Bradford Teasdale works with concrete creating custom installations, mosaics, furniture and fine art. I got to see his work in person at the Architectural Digest Home Show. It’s even more exquisite when you get to touch it (which I totally did without asking and he was OK with it!) (Design Milk)
