Woven Light Leave the screwdriver in the toolbox. The Disque pendant lamp by Dutch designer Marc van der Voorn achieves is modest look from two translucent bowl-shaped discs that are bound together with nothing more than a thin 65 meter string (DIY people!). Weaved beautifully between the discs, the string gives a soft touch of character to an otherwise reserved design. A little alien mothership-ish, but overall quite appealing. Designer: Marc van der Voorn (Yanko Design)

A Silent Alarm Clock Alarm clocks usually jolt us awake leading us to reach for the almighty snooze button. Silence is a conceptual alarm clock that allows you to program multiple alarms and wakes you without any sound. Each person wears a wireless rubber ring with an integrated vibration device that generates a tactile alarm. The snooze function is engaged by shaking your hand. However, each successive time you want to snooze, more movement is required, making sure you get to work on time. Designer: Johan Brengesjo (Yanko Design)

Breakfast concepted for 24 hours and decided to turn the orange blimp into Foursquare’s first constantly-moving target. (The team hacked some hardware so that the blimp would automatically update its location periodically.) The blimp was supposed to fly for just one month on the East Coast, but it ended up flying cross-country, and people drove across state lines to check in and earn the Conan Blimpspotter badge on Foursquare.
