Executive Summary

Here’s the approximately 75word exec sum for my d.school class Entrepeneurial Design for Extreme Affordability (http://extreme.stanford.edu). We call ourselves EnRich.

A rural Nepalese child is almost guaranteed to grow up with vitamin deficiency. The precise measuring equipment needed for traditional flour fortification is too expensive for it to reach the mill his family uses, one of Nepal’s 25,000 small-scale water mills.
EnRICH is a “centrally measured, locally mixed” fortification solution that shatters the existing cost structure and makes small-scale fortification feasible. We distribute single-serving fortificant packets that millers dispense into their customers’ grain as part of their existing process, allowing them to dramatically improve the health and wealth of their communities.

Amazingly we’re proposing a 98% cost reduction in physical materials, from $900USD to $30. Pictures + report coming thursday.
