He didn’t nail this in terms of the modularity. Everything but the closed form of this light is pretty ugly. But, closed, it is awesome.
‘eraclea’ is a monolithic lighting design pierced by a large circular hole, an intentional reference to early 20th century english sculptor barbara hepworth, created by scottish-born paris-based designer neil poulton for italian lighting manufacturer artemide. (via neil poulton)
LEDs dotting the inner realm of a lampshade, you can only imagine the mesmerizing effect it’s going to create. The LED Shade Lamp is just this; no bulbs, no holder, but a handful of twinky lights doing their thing. Ora Lamp has Postive Aura The Ora lamp by Santiago Sevillano takes inspiration from the classic and cool shape of the Bakelite Bell telephone handset. The lamp, made of injected polycarbonate, can be twisted between connecting components to easily direct light to desired locations. Aluminum reflectors inside the bulb area help transmit the light and enhance the inner ring making the element as well as the ambiance feel light and airy. goodbye edison - as its name indicates, the french company of the same pseudonym examines the disappearance of the classic edison bulb and investigates the capacity for LED sources to spread a softer indirect light. (Blue Ant Studio)
Stay Connected by Broadcasting Color The LightSync is a device designed to reinforce connections between remote team members working on the same project. Instead of bombarding each other with emails and phone calls, simply roll the LightSync to broadcast a color – symbiotic of how you feel. Woven Light Leave the screwdriver in the toolbox. The Disque pendant lamp by Dutch designer Marc van der Voorn achieves is modest look from two translucent bowl-shaped discs that are bound together with nothing more than a thin 65 meter string (DIY people!). Weaved beautifully between the discs, the string gives a soft touch of character to an otherwise reserved design. A little alien mothership-ish, but overall quite appealing. Gone are the days that bigger is better. Streamlined packaging designs like the flat pack Spline Light are in… for good. The simple yet elegant design of this matt black pendant light helps save on shipping costs and ease up on the environment.
